A gift from a "rain barrel angel"!

Wow! In the last few days a lot has happened! Thank goodness for the rain, the second grade waterers, and the sun! Our sock monsters have started to sprout hair!! We're so excited! We took a peek today to see what was going on! Also, we received another gift from an angel! We now have a terrific rain water barrel, so we don't have to drag water from inside the building to the garden! We're going to paint it next week! Oh what garden fun we are having!!!

A visit from.... THE GREAT PUMPKIN!!!

Oh my! We thought we were safe from the deer, but it looks like our fence is no match for The Great Pumpkin! Looks like we had a visitor this weekend!

Two new gates!

The workers took some time off on Wednesday, but were back and ready to roll on Thursday! Today they built us two beautiful gates! They are working hard to get them installed and ready for use. We'll be coming in and out of our garden very soon! In the meantime, it looks like sock monsters are starting to grow... wonder if anything else will appear in the garden? Maybe our sock monsters need something to protect?

Today we should have a fence!

Last night it rained a lot, so the garden space is very muddy! But hopefully the fence workers will come back and continue working! This morning when I went outside I saw these beautiful post toppers! Looking forward to seeing what else the day will bring! Hopefully sunshine is in the equation! Stay tuned... more posts on the way!

What's happening outside today?

A truck pulled up around the back circle on Monday October 11th and lots of supplies were unloaded! What's going on back there in the garden? Then we saw a big roll of wire fencing come out of the truck and we knew it was true... the fence is coming! Stay tuned for more pictures!

1st & 2nd grade "Garden Fairies"!

One day when we had a break in the rain, some garden fairies arrived with lots of goodies for us to use! We now have wheel barrels, rakes, shovels, scoopers, watering cans, TONS of gloves, trowels and garden aprons for our use in the VERY near future! Stay tuned for more exciting things being delivered to the garden area real soon! I heard a fence was on it's way... and hopefully some raised bed garden boxes will be built! I also heard something about sock monsters growing in the garden? We'll have to see what comes!

Brrrrr! It was cold, but we managed to get a little more raking, digging and fertilizing done.

Our teacher finally put down the camera for one minute... Smile!

Lots of teamwork by garden groups!

Rocks to cover an unsightly drain... soon to be the home of our beautiful bird feeder from a special elf!

There's lots of raking to do and we had fun doing it!

We all worked together and a lot got done!
